The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has intensified efforts to strengthen its grassroots structures in Vihiga County following a meeting between party leaders and hundreds of delegates drawn from West Sabatia, Mungoma and South Maragoli wards.
The engagement was led by UDA Deputy Secretary General and Emuhaya Member of Parliament, Hon. Omboko Milemba, who met delegates and newly elected grassroots officials as the party seeks to consolidate its presence in the county ahead of future political activities.
Speaking during the meeting, Milemba lauded the large turnout and enthusiasm displayed by party members, saying it reflected growing support for UDA in the region.
“The overwhelming turnout, unwavering enthusiasm, and unity of purpose demonstrated by the delegates reaffirm that UDA remains the fastest-growing and most formidable political movement in Vihiga County and across the nation,’statement read.
He noted that the commitment demonstrated by delegates underscored the party’s continued expansion and influence at the grassroots level.
Milemba also congratulated newly elected grassroots leaders, commending them for their dedication and commitment to strengthening party structures across the county.
He emphasized that grassroots leadership remains a critical pillar in the party’s organization and plays a key role in mobilizing members and advancing UDA’s agenda at the community level.
The lawmaker further reiterated the party’s commitment to internal democracy, assuring members that future party nominations would be conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.
According to Milemba, credible nomination processes are essential in ensuring that party members have confidence in the leadership selection process and that candidates reflect the will of the electorate.
The meeting comes as political parties across the country continue to strengthen their grassroots networks in preparation for upcoming political activities and future electoral contests.
UDA leaders expressed confidence that the party’s growing support base and strengthened local structures would enhance its ability to mobilize members and advance its development agenda in Vihiga County and beyond.
