The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is strengthening ties and fostering cooperation with other political parties as it works to build a broad, inclusive political movement ahead of the 2027 General Election.

President William Ruto said that under the broad-based government, Kenyans are embracing cooperation and ensuring that no one is left behind.

He noted that national unity is key to resolving one of the country’s longstanding challenges—equitable sharing of national resources.

The President emphasized that progress does not require one group to lose for another to gain, stressing that mutually beneficial outcomes are possible. He said Kenya is shifting focus from competing over limited resources to expanding opportunities for all.

“For a long time, the biggest challenge in Kenya has been sharing a small cake. We now have a strategy to bake a bigger cake so that everyone can share,” he said.

President Ruto was speaking on Saturday at Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri when he hosted more than 17,000 UDA grassroots leaders from Nyeri County.

He said Kenya’s transformation into a first-world economy requires bold and visionary leadership, political cooperation, and unity of purpose.

He also underscored the importance of strong national political parties capable of sustaining the country’s development agenda beyond a single election cycle or individual leadership.

“A political party is the most important instrument for ensuring continuity and consolidating the transformation of our nation,” he said.

The President urged Kenyans to reject divisive and retrogressive politics founded on hatred, tribalism, and intolerance, noting that sustainable national development cannot be achieved through violence or division.

“Leadership, politics, and development are built on humility, patience, hard work, and unity,” he said.

President Ruto reaffirmed his commitment to uniting the country, pledging to use his office to bring Kenyans together.

The meeting was attended by Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, and Members of Parliament led by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa.
