The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party held a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting today and deliberated on, among others, the decision by the ODM Party Central Management Committee to initiate structured negotiations with the rulling outfit.
In the high-level meeting chaired by party leader President William Ruto, the NEC approved the talks and authorised the head of state to establish mechanisms for the dialogue to negotiate a coalition agreement ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The negotiations will also strengthen the ongoing political partnership between ODM and UDA, which has resulted in the adoption of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) Report of 2024 and the establishment of the broad-based administration, which has incorporated members of the ODM party into various responsibilities in government.
Notably, the consensus for mutual and reciprocal support for UDA and ODM candidates resulted in the two parties winning all the Senate and National Assembly seats that were contested in the by-elections held on November 27, 2025.
