Nairobi City County Parking Director Steve Ogesa has been accused of secretly working with Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino in a political arrangement that could have far-reaching implications ahead of the 2027 elections.
Sources familiar with the matter claim that despite being elevated to his current position by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s administration, Ogesa has been holding a series of discreet meetings with individuals linked to Babu Owino.
According to insiders, Ogesa is reportedly convinced that the Embakasi East MP stands a stronger chance of unseating Governor Sakaja in the 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial race, prompting him to quietly realign his political loyalties.
Further allegations suggest that Babu Owino had previously sponsored part of Ogesa’s campaign when he was seeking election as a county union representative, a relationship that is now said to be influencing Ogesa’s political calculations within City Hall.
The claims have raised questions about loyalty within the county administration and whether senior officials are already positioning themselves for a post-Sakaja political order.
Neither Steve Ogesa nor MP Babu Owino has publicly responded to the allegations.
