Newly appointed Deputy County Commissioners (DCCs) have begun an induction programme at the Kenya School of Government (KSG), Lower Kabete, in a move aimed at strengthening the capacity of National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs) and enhancing public service delivery across the country.

The induction was officially opened by Raymond Omollo, who said the training forms part of the government’s commitment to continuous professional development and structured career progression for administrative officers.

Speaking during the opening session, Dr. Omollo emphasized the critical role played by Deputy County Commissioners and other National Government Administrative Officers in implementing government policies and programmes at the grassroots.

“Presided over the official opening of the induction training for newly appointed Deputy County Commissioners (DCCs) at the Kenya School of Government (KSG), Lower Kabete, Nairobi,’he said in a statement.

He noted that the officers serve as a vital link between the national government and local communities, ensuring that public services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Dr. Omollo further called on the newly appointed officers to uphold professionalism, integrity, and accountability as they execute their duties.

He said Deputy County Commissioners will be expected to spearhead the implementation of national priorities, maintain law and order, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and ensure government programmes reach communities in a timely and impactful manner.

The induction programme is designed to equip the officers with the knowledge, leadership skills, and administrative competencies required to effectively discharge their responsibilities in their respective stations.

The government has continued to invest in the training and professional development of National Government Administrative Officers as part of broader efforts to improve governance, enhance service delivery, and strengthen coordination between government agencies at the county and sub-county levels.
