American filmmaker Tyler Perry has said he has no plans to marry, citing concerns about the high rise in divorce in marriages.
Speaking in an interview on the Jennifer Hudson Show, the 57-year-old mogul said most of his friends are now divorced and are facing financial instability to maintain themselves.
“I’m never marrying and it’s actually because of the divorce pandemic that’s happening. Everybody that I know was doing well went broke because of divorce,” Tyler said.

He emphasized remaining free rather than risking financial consequences, as he has previously faced legal battles but no marital disputes.
He also stressed the importance of independence, stability and safeguarding one’s well-being, especially among high-profile individuals whose lives are lived in the public eye.
He joked watching his own film franchise “Why Did I Get Married?” that helped convince him that marriage comes with too many complications and also the movies he produces. Though he revealed he hasn’t been on a date in 30 years, but he is planning to move to Puerto Rico.
