On February 19, 2024, video director and social media expert Trevor announced significant changes to his brands shortly after breaking up with his girlfriend, Mungai Eve. Trevor revealed that he was rebranding the popular “Mungai Eve” YouTube channel, which had nearly 800,000 subscribers, to “Kenya Online Media” because Mungai’s services were no longer required.
He also announced he would be taking control of another YouTube channel, “Insta Fame,” which had 105,000 subscribers. The news took many by surprise, especially since Trevor had previously promised in an interview that even if they broke up in the future, he would not take the channels from Mungai. He had described the channels as essential to both of their careers, and Mungai was seen as the face of the brand.
However, Trevor explained that the situation had changed due to what he described as Mungai’s disrespectful behavior during their breakup. He explained that she had made him wait outside her door before she would send him money to help him move out. She also reportedly insisted on checking what he was taking before he left. Trevor accused her of financial manipulation, saying she had made him beg for his fair share, which deeply upset him.
