The national Treasury is mobilising Kenya’s economic and financial sector to help the 2026 mashujaa Day Thematic Week with all government agencies business financial institutions and development partners.
The engagement, held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi was chaired by Treasury Principal Secretary Dr Chris Kiptoo and Dennis Itumbi, Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy Coordination and Chairman of the National Celebrations Thematic Committee.
The planning PS Bonface Makokha said the engagement would bring together the correlation between economic planning, evidence, and policy with citizen participation with the financing of kenya’s transformation agenda.
Information PS Stephen Isaboke encouraged the press to help organizations catch the attention of the media and promote the activities of the week so that kenyans are well informed and participate.
Higher Education and Research PS Dr Beatrice Inyangala highlighted the role of universities and other institutions in research, innovation and skills development.
The celebration will be held across Uasin Gishu, Nandi, and Elgeyo Marakwet under the themes of Security, Sports, and Economy.
The week will culminate in the Kenya Economic Summit 2026, scheduled for October 17–18 in Eldoret, ahead of the national Mashujaa Day celebrations on October 20.
