Top Golfers Set for NCBA Coronation Cup & Bendor Trophy at Nakuru Golf Club

The NCBA Coronation Cup and Bendor Trophy 2025 tees off tomorrow, Friday 30th May, and runs through to Sunday, 1st June at Nakuru Golf Club.

Part of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) series, the tournament has drawn 110 players for the Coronation category (gross scores) and 100 for the Bendor category (net scores), promising a weekend of intense competition.

Top contenders include KAGC leader John Lejirma, defending champion Michael Karanga, rising star Elvis Muigua, and Nakuru’s own John Kamaisi.

The event will also feature nine elite female golfers, including Joyce Wanjiru, Kellie Gachaga, and Naomi Wafula, as well as international players from Rwanda and Great Britain.

The Coronation event will be contested over 54 holes (stroke play), while Bendor players will compete over 36 holes across Saturday and Sunday.

Nakuru Golf Club confirms the course is in excellent condition and ready for play.

NCBA Group MD John Gachora reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to the sport, saying, “We’re proud to support this prestigious tournament and help grow the game of golf in Kenya. We look forward to a great weekend of competition and connection.”

The event also contributes to the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), attracting top amateur talent from across the region.
