Thicky Sandra, daughter of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, recently sparked a buzz online after a bold statement about money and her lifestyle. She claimed that KSh 500,000 is only enough to replace her wig. According to her, the amount can’t even buy one of her car tires or replace her car rims. At most, she joked, it might buy a small piece of land or cover a shopping spree.

This comment, while humorous to some, drew attention to the stark contrast between her luxury-filled life and the reality of many ordinary Kenyans. Growing up in a wealthy household, Sandra is no stranger to extravagance. Her life is filled with expensive possessions, including a red Range Rover and a Lexus LX 570, vehicles valued in the millions. Her accessories, like a Versace watch gifted by her father and reportedly worth KSh 115,000, reflect the lavish lifestyle she leads.

Despite the glitz and glamour, Sandra has occasionally shown a more reflective side. She has acknowledged that wealth doesn’t shield one from personal struggles. Life, as she once said, isn’t always smooth, even for those who appear to have everything.

Her statements also hint at her elevated standards. In a light-hearted Q&A, she joked about her bride price being a list of extravagant items including lions, helicopters, and millions of pounds. Though clearly exaggerated, it reinforces the idea of her living in a world far removed from everyday concerns.
