American actor Sylvester Stallone has opened up about the toll fame that has taken on his physical and mental health, revealing past struggles with bulimia and steroid use.
The 80-year-old Academy Award-nominated actor revealed during an interview that he suffered from an eating disorder while prepping his role in the 1982 movie “Rambo” and “The Steps,” saying he took pains to appear more “animalistic,” drawing inspiration from jaguars and cats.
“I couldn’t hold anything down or I didn’t want to keep it down because I became so obsessed with staying at that point of fitness, literally an obsessive body worship kind of thing, Stallone said.

He admitted using steroids to maintain his look and working out to try to stay in shape for six months straight while eating yogurt and pudding.
“Nobody does it without additives and drugs, period. I don’t care what they say. It isn’t as though you’re a junkie, but if you’re going to work out and try to stay in shape for six months straight,” he said.
The legend said looking back on decades of ambition and fame, he acknowledged his relentless drive and pursuit of success that came with significant consequences for his mind and body.
