Kikuyu gospel singer Ngaruiya Junior, the self-styled “King of Kigooco” has revealed how why he is struggling to make ends meet.
Ngaruiya blames deputy president Rigathi Gachagua for purported job opportunities he lost after the 2022 elections.
In an interview he narrated how Gachagua in January 2023 wrongly depicted him, jinxing his career.
On the day, the DP said Ngaruiya was the head of entertainment and music with an office in State House and another at Harambee House.
“Gachagua said I am a senior officer in the government with two offices. One at State House and another Harambee House. That was a lie” he disclosed.
He went on to claim after the elections Governors Kimani Wamatangi and Susan Kihika promised him jobs but they gave them to other people when they heard he was working at president William Ruto’s offices.
“Gachagua is my friend but he messed me up. If he did not lie, I would be working somewhere. Now I am jobless, struggling” he claimed.
Ngaruiya started opening up about his woes recently, saying he was tired of living a lie.
Last month he said he was broke and willing to take small emceeing jobs like dowry, burial and weddings.
“Out there they think I am a millionaire working in State House. I don’t have any office and no monthly salary” Ngaruiya revealed.
