A heartwarming reunion unfolded in Mwangaza, Isiolo County, as a four-month-old baby who was stolen from her home six weeks ago was finally reunited with her parents, bringing an end to weeks of anguish and uncertainty.Baby Gift Mutethia was recovered in Rii Village, Tigania West Constituency in neighbouring Meru County, and safely returned home last night.

Her parents, Kenneth Mwirigi and Fridah Gakii, could not contain their joy and relief as they embraced their youngest child once again.

The couple recounted the harrowing experience of their daughter’s disappearance on 1st March 2025, when she was allegedly kidnapped by a stranger from their home.

The past six weeks have been marked by sleepless nights, desperate prayers, and an intense search effort.“We went through the darkest days of our lives,” said Fridah, holding her baby tightly. “Not knowing where your child is or if she’s safe is a pain no parent should endure.”Authorities are yet to disclose full details of how the infant was located, but investigations are ongoing to apprehend those behind the abduction.

The recovery of baby Gift has brought immense relief not only to her family but also to the broader Mwangaza community, which had rallied in support during the ordeal.As the investigation continues, the family is focused on healing and moving forward, grateful that their little one is back where she belongs
