Artist Stevo Simple Simple Boy

Kenyan rapper Stevo Simple Boy has opened up about how he missed out a collaboration with Tanzanian artist Harmonize, claiming miscommunication and management issues prevented him.

Speaking in a podcast, he stated Harmonize had expressed interest in record mixing of the track “Inauma” but the communication from his management team failed him before the project moved forward.

“Watu ambao wanafanya hii collaboration waliifanya ikuwe ngumu ni management team yangu, sikukataa kufanya collaboration na Harmonize, ilikuwa team yangu ilikataa, saa ikawa hivyo,” Stevo said.

Harmonize, known for his hit tracks and global reach, has worked with artists across Africa and a joint project with Stevo Simple Boy would have boosted his music career and the entertainment industry.

He admitted feeling frustrated, noting that such opportunities are rare, especially for artists breaking into the music industry. He added he is willing to proceed with the project, saying he has no problem working with Harmonize.

Stevo pointed out Harmonize stole some parts of his music and stage style, noticing similar styles in the music.

This isn’t the first time Stevo’s career has faced hurdles; in 2022, he had issues with his former management, which stalled his momentum, while in 2024, he took a break from music citing mental health struggles, before coming back to the stage.
