Veteran gospel artist Stephen Kasolo has denied rumours circulating online that he stole Diana Marua’s iPhone 14 pro Max a fortnight ago during Bolo Bespoke’s extravagant wedding.
During an interview with online media Kasolo addressed the circulating rumours and cleared his name. He asserted that he left the event during the day to focus on engagements in Nairobi. According to Diana Bahati, her expensive gadget was stolen during the evening.
Kasolo stated, “Bahati, listen carefully. Go online and address this issue with your wife (Diana Marua). Clear my name in this issue,”
Kasolo reiterated hat Bahati invited him to the event himself therefore he expected that Bahati would clear his name. He insisted that the allegations that he was into petty theft damaged his reputation.
“You invited me to Bolo’s event, not as a paid guest but out of respect. I am not an upcoming artist, and my family depends on my name just like your family depends on your Netflix proceeds. The phone was lost at night when people were drunk. I left earlier because I had a show in Nairobi. Kindly clear my name. Jina langu linategemea mtandao… Imeharibu brand yangu. Sahii siwezi pewa event. Ukiitwa mwizi utapewa event na nani? Utaenda wapi?”
“Familia ya mke wangu ni mapastors. I have a boss amabaye ameniajiri anaskiaje? I have a daughter she’s six years old and she has a phone. Huwa anapitia vitu zote babake anaongelewa unadhani anaskiaje? My wife anaskiaje?. Mimi ningekuwa naiba ningeiba kitambo. Sahii I’ve made it in life,”
A day after the wedding, Diana Marua shared a video announcing that her phone had been stolen. She also promised her fans a handsome reward to the thief who’d return the device.
“The ceremony was fantastic, but the unfortunate consequence of getting immersed in the jubilation is that I lost my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I urge whoever has the phone to please call this number and return it. It’s being tracked, so let’s save time, energy, and avoid embarrassment and drama. That phone contains my entire life. If you return it, I will spot you out and reward you handsomely.”
