Gachagua with Martha Karua. The two have decided to work together.

Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua today hosted former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at her home in Gichugu, Murang’a country.

In a video seen by TUKIO.coke, the jovial Karua was captured welcoming Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, together with several other leaders, to her palatial home.

The two top leaders had yet to disclose the agenda of the meeting at the time of publishing this piece, but their meeting had drawn mixed reactions.

Some political pundits weighed that the meeting is aimed at strategising on the possibility of forming a pact ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Karua had previously hinted at working with Gachagua regardless of their political and ideological differences.

She said she was open to working with like-minded leaders opposed to President William Ruto’s administration and since his ouster as the deputy president, Gachagua has sustained his attack on President Ruto.

"I have not talked to him (Gachagua), and he has not sought me out, but I cannot rule out talking to anybody. He is not my enemy. Kenya has one common enemy and he is called William Ruto and his regime. The fact that I have not talked to him does not make him my enemy," Karua said during a TV interview on December 23, 2024.
