Pop star and actress Selena Gomez has opened up about her struggle with vaping and the impact it has had on her voice.

The 34-year-old singer said she has been battling with health problems and warned her followers about the dangers of vaping and the difficulty of breaking free from nicotine addiction.

“I’m not gonna be able to change my voice. I vaped nicotine a lot. Nicotine is so hard to quit and I think I just wanted to say, if you’re through it or if you’re even trying to vape, it’s just not worth it. It’s so stupid and it changed my voice,” Selena said.

She previously opened about her chronic autoimmune disease, lupus, suggesting that the condition is affecting her vocal cords.

She was diagnosed in 2015, and she ended her 2013 tour abruptly to check herself into rehab facility for treatment.

In 2017, she underwent a kidney transplant from her friend Francia Raisa, helped move her lupus into remission for a period.

Medical experts often warn that vaping can cause long-term experience respiratory and vocal damage.
