After the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)at the State House, Kenya and Italy have launched a new phase of collaboration in the fields of higher education, training, and research.
While presiding over the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kenya and Italy, at State House, Nairobi, President William Ruto said that the initiative will among others facilitate the exchange of researchers, faculty members, and students, promote joint research projects, and enable the shared use of scientific and technological infrastructure between the countries.
According Ruto, the new chapter will play a crucial role in equipping 70 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions with cutting-edge technology. The agreement is furthermore expected to enrich the academic and cultural experiences of participants from both nations.
President Ruto also added that the signed MOU, would enhance knowledge between the two nations, especially in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence (AI).
Italy’s Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini expressed her country’s commitment to realizing the objectives of the MoU, including the mobility of students, researchers, and university teaching staff.
