Prolific Kenyan comedian and entrepreneur Sammie Kioko announced the closure of his clothing line, a move that has left many fans and fellow entertainers in dismay.

In an Instagram post, Sammie expressed his heartbreak as he finally realized that despite his very best efforts, his team has faced major challenges that have made it impossible for the business to continue operating.

“It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the closure of our shops and production areas. Despite our best efforts, we have encountered challenges that have made it impossible for us to continue operating,” he wrote.

The comedian, so adored for his creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, took time to thank his loyal customers, supporters, and staff who have stood by him through it all.

“Your encouragement has meant the world to us. Not a goodbye, but a see you later. We won’t get tired of knocking the county offices. God above everything,” he added.

His comment section was flooded with words of encouragement from friends and fans. Fellow comedian Njoro the Comedian commented, “Ooh no … yaani sijui niseme nini,” as Tom Daktari encouraged him, “Itakua sawa kaka.”

Apart from being famous for using humor on stage and on television, Sammie Kioko had also made a name in the fashion business, particularly in making suits and outfits for celebrities and weddings.

Kioko’s message suggests hope for a comeback, and many fans believe this is just a temporary setback.

As he aptly put it, “Not a goodbye, but a see you later.”
