President William Ruto has reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to strengthening its diplomatic ties with the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, emphasizing their shared values of pan-Africanism and mutual progress.

Speaking at a reception at State House, Nairobi, President Ruto expressed Kenya’s ongoing desire to enhance the relationship between the two nations in areas such as trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges.

“We have enjoyed cordial diplomatic relations with Algeria over the years, and we remain committed to deepening these ties. Our partnership is rooted in a shared vision for the advancement of our countries and the African continent,” said President Ruto.

He highlighted the importance of both nations working together to foster economic growth and regional integration.

The occasion was marked by the delivery of a message from Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, conveyed by Special Envoy and Minister of Communication Mohamed Meziane.

Alongside the Special Envoy was Ambassador Selma Hadadi, Algeria’s candidate for Vice-Chair of the African Union Commission, underscoring the deepening collaboration between Kenya and Algeria on the continental stage.

In his remarks, President Ruto also reiterated Kenya’s support for Algeria’s candidacy for the Vice-Chair position, noting the significance of such roles in shaping the future of the African Union and promoting the continent’s collective interests.

The meeting highlighted the potential for expanding bilateral cooperation and underscored the importance of continued collaboration in enhancing Africa’s unity, prosperity, and global standing.

Both nations are optimistic about the future of their partnership, which will see an emphasis on expanding trade ties and fostering greater cultural and diplomatic engagement.
