Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has hailed the strong cultural and economic ties between Kenya and India, highlighting their shared history and growing partnership in various sectors.
Speaking during a reception to mark India’s 76th Republic Day, Mudavadi reflected on the deep, personal connection between the two nations, which extends beyond diplomacy to everyday Kenyan life.
“Our shared love for chapati, samosas, biryani, and chai demonstrates the enduring cultural bond between Kenya and India,” he remarked, noting how these staples have become integral to Kenyan households.

Mudavadi emphasized India’s role as a key development partner, with public and private investments fueling advancements in health, manufacturing, education, finance, ICT, and agriculture. He praised India’s contributions to Kenya’s progress and lauded the mutual benefits of the partnership.

In a significant development, Mudavadi welcomed the Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank), which has chosen Nairobi as the location for its East Africa Representative Office.

He noted that this move underscores India’s confidence in Kenya as a thriving regional financial hub and a gateway for East African trade and investment.
