Mike Sonko

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has once again captured the public attention after a heartfelt gesture toward stranded students of Naivasha Girls High School. His support follows the unrest of the school’s closure as dozens of learners were left walking kilometres to the bus terminus, uncertain about how they would get home.

Known for his generosity and empathy toward people, Sonko, stopped to assist and handed out bus fare and food, to ensure the students traveled safely and reached home on time.

In a viral video circulating online, shows the students overwhelmed with joy and relief, thanking him for stepping in.

Through his charitable foundation, Sonko has helped many people by paying school fees, adopting and supporting the needy families, funding funerals for the less fortunate and providing with medical support. Sonko prayed for the students, parents and teachers affected by the unrest in schools.
