President William Ruto has expressed deep sorrow following the death of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo, describing him as a resilient leader who left a lasting imprint on Kenya’s political and business landscape.
In a condolence message, President Ruto said Jirongo was a close friend, a seasoned businessman, and a consummate politician who faced life’s challenges with courage and determination.
“Jirongo was a relentless go-getter who refused to be defined, let alone defeated, by life’s challenges,” President Ruto said.
The President portrayed the former legislator as a bold and principled figure, noting that he was both blunt and warm, bold yet approachable, and deeply enlightened with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
Ruto further described Jirongo as exceptionally generous, saying he was always willing to support and uplift others using his time, resources, and personal influence.
“Above all, he was generous to a fault; always willing to give and to back others with belief and commitment,” the President said.
