Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has expressed deep sorrow following the death of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo, describing his passing as a major loss to his family, the people of Lugari and the nation.
In a condolence message, Kalonzo said Jirongo died in a tragic road accident along the Nairobi Nakuru Highway, noting that his death had left many Kenyans in shock and mourning.
Kalonzo described the former legislator as a bold and charismatic leader who stood out in Kenya’s political landscape and was never afraid to challenge convention or pursue his beliefs with courage and clarity.
“Honourable Jirongo made a significant contribution to Kenya’s public life, and his distinctive voice in our national discourse will be remembered,” Kalonzo said.
The Wiper leader extended his condolences on behalf of his family and the Wiper Patriotic Front to Jirongo’s family, friends and the people of Kakamega County and the wider Western Kenya region.
He prayed for God’s comfort and strength for the bereaved family during the difficult period, and asked Kenyans to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
“May the soul of Honourable Cyrus Jirongo rest in eternal peace,” Kalonzo said.
