President William Ruto remains the front-runner in the 2027 presidential race, according to a new Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA) opinion poll.
The survey released on Friday shows Ruto’s support remains unchanged at 24 per cent.
However, the biggest movement in the latest poll was recorded by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
The former ODM Secretary General’s popularity rose from 10 per cent in May to 15 per cent in July, making him the fastest-rising presidential hopeful over the last two months.
On the other hand, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka suffered the biggest decline.
His support dropped from 19 per cent in the previous survey to 13 per cent in the latest poll.
According to TIFA, the findings reflect changing political dynamics as parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The poll also found that Sifuna is now the most preferred ODM presidential flag bearer.
“Among ODM supporters, 44 per cent said they would prefer Edwin Sifuna to fly the party’s presidential flag,” TIFA said.
The findings are likely to strengthen Sifuna’s position within the opposition at a time he has stepped up his nationwide campaigns through the Linda Mwananchi movement.
Ruto, meanwhile, continues to enjoy the highest national support despite growing political competition.
TIFA conducted the survey through face-to-face interviews with more than 2,000 respondents across all 47 counties between June 13 and June 22, 2026.
