President William Ruto has issued a stern warning to individuals involved in violent protests, describing them as terrorists and declaring their actions a threat to national security.
In a strongly worded statement, the President said:
“Those who attack Kenyans, police officers, security installations and businesses are terrorists. Such criminal acts are a declaration of war.”
The statement comes amid growing unrest in parts of the country, where anti-government protests have led to destruction of property, clashes with police, and reports of looting.
Ruto emphasized that his administration would not tolerate what he termed as “retrogressive elements” attempting to use violence to gain political mileage.

“We will not allow our country to be destroyed by retrogressive elements that are seeking shortcuts to rise to power. Enough is enough!” he added.
The President made these remarks after assessing the ongoing construction of 540 housing units at Kilimani Police Station in Dagoretti North, Nairobi — part of his administration’s affordable housing program.
