Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has held talks with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Kenya Mission on strengthening cooperation in border management, migration governance, and humanitarian response.

Murkomen noted that Kenya and the IOM have enjoyed decades of collaboration in managing migration-related challenges and supporting coordinated responses to regional humanitarian crises.

He held the meeting at Harambee House with IOM Kenya Chief of Mission Ms. Nomagugu Ncube, where discussions focused on preparations for the upcoming International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) scheduled for 4th to 8th May in New York, where Kenya will serve as a co-facilitator.

The talks also reviewed progress on ongoing multilateral initiatives aimed at strengthening counterterrorism efforts and improving border management systems.

Kenya reaffirmed its commitment to continued partnership with IOM in addressing migration challenges and enhancing regional and global security cooperation.
