President William Ruto and his deputy Kithure Kindiki have sent strong signals of political conciliation, urging the country to celebrate leadership across the political divide for the sake of national unity.

Speaking at a public event on Sunday, President Ruto said opposition leader Raila Odinga would have pursued similar policies if he had won the presidency in 2022, adding that Kenya’s challenges require continuity in vision regardless of who holds office.

“I am sure that if Raila had been elected president, he would be doing exactly what I’m doing,” Ruto said, noting that reforms in the economy and governance were not a matter of choice but of necessity.

Echoing the president’s tone, Kithure Kindiki called on Kenyans to look beyond rivalry and appreciate the role both leaders play in shaping the nation’s future.

“We must celebrate the visionary leadership of President Ruto and acknowledge the statesmanship of Raila,” Kindiki said.
