President William Ruto extended his congratulations to the newly appointed Deputy Inspector Generals of Police during a ceremony held at State House in Mombasa County.
The newly sworn-in DIGs, Eliud Lagat for the Kenya Police Service and Gilbert Masengeli for the Administration Police Service, were presented to the public in a formal event that underscored the government’s commitment to supporting and modernizing the police force.
In his address, President Ruto pledged the government’s support in equipping and modernizing the police force to enhance its efficiency and effectiveness in maintaining law and order.

“We are committed to ensuring that our police force is well-equipped and modernized, which is essential for increasing its efficiency in discharging its duties,” President Ruto stated.

He emphasized the importance of professionalism and integrity within the police force, urging the new Deputy Inspector Generals and their colleagues to uphold these values in all their activities.

“We implore the police to conduct its activities with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, which are crucial for maintaining public trust and ensuring justice,” he added.

The appointment of Eliud Lagat and Gilbert Masengeli is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the leadership and operational capabilities of Kenya’s police services.
