President William Ruto has reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to strengthening trade relations with the European Union, urging stakeholders to eliminate existing barriers and explore new avenues for economic collaboration.
Speaking during the Second Edition of the Kenya-European Union Business Forum held in Nairobi, President Ruto said Kenya is open and ready for business, highlighting ongoing efforts by his administration to create a competitive and resilient economy.
“We urge the Kenya-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) Council to explore innovative ways to address current and emerging barriers to unlock the vast potential of Kenya-EU trade,” Ruto stated.
The forum, attended by key players from the public and private sectors, marked a significant step in enhancing bilateral trade ties. During the event, President Ruto presided over the launch of the European Union Chamber, an initiative designed to boost private sector collaboration between Kenya and EU member states.
Ruto emphasized that Kenya is implementing pro-trade policies focused on inclusive wealth creation, job opportunities, and long-term economic resilience.
“Our goal is to build mutually beneficial partnerships that deliver tangible results for our people while cementing Kenya’s position as a gateway to investment in Africa,” he added.
