KCB RFC claimed a vital bonus-point victory after overpowering Kisumu RFC 41–10 in their second match of the 2025/2026 Kenya Cup season at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu on Saturday.

Despite the convincing scoreline, KCB were forced to weather an early storm as Kisumu started brightly, pressing with intensity and pushing the bankers into defensive mistakes.

The hosts capitalized on the momentum, taking an early lead through a well-struck drop goal.

KCB gradually settled into the match, shifting control in their favour. Bramwel Kilwake grounded the ball off a powerful scrum deep in Kisumu territory, and Elvis Namusasi added the conversion to put KCB ahead 7–3.

Soon after, winger Floyd Wabwire cut through the defence with a superb run to score, sending the visitors into halftime with a 12–3 lead.

After the break, KCB dominated completely. Kilwake crossed the whitewash again with a well-executed try before former Kisumu player Branton Biko produced a standout performance against his former team, racing clear to score KCB’s fourth try and extend the lead to 22–3.

The visitors continued to pile on the pressure as Michael Kimwele and Samuel Asati added further tries. Substitute Austin Sikutwa slotted in two key conversions, and Biko capped his memorable return with his second try of the afternoon to stretch the margin to 41–3.

Kisumu managed a late converted try, but the result was long settled as KCB wrapped up a dominant 41–10 win.

KCB now turn their focus to Round Three as they look to extend their unbeaten run at home.
