President William Ruto has paid glowing tribute to Ambassador Monica Juma following her appointment to senior leadership positions at the United Nations.

Speaking at State House Nairobi during a farewell meeting with the outgoing National Security Advisor, President Ruto praised Ambassador Juma for her years of distinguished public service, describing her as a highly respected professional with vast expertise in security, diplomacy and public administration.

The Head of State noted that Juma had demonstrated exceptional leadership and negotiation skills throughout her career in government, earning recognition both locally and internationally for her commitment to service and results-driven approach.

Ruto congratulated Ambassador Juma on her appointment as Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna, saying her experience and leadership would make a major contribution on the global stage.

“I am confident that she will excel in her new duties,” President Ruto said, adding that Kenya remains proud of her achievements and continued rise in international leadership.

“Ambassador Juma has held several senior government positions over the years, including serving in the foreign affairs docket and later as National Security Advisor, where she played a key role in shaping Kenya’s diplomatic and security agenda,”Ruto said.
