President William Ruto on Wednesday attended the burial of Mzee Gideon Mung’aro Senior, father of Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro, in Kilifi County.

The funeral was also graced by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and other political leaders, marking a solemn moment amid widespread Gen Z-led protests sweeping across Kenya.

Earlier in the day, President Ruto hosted His Highness Prince Rahim Al Hussaini Aga Khan’s envoy, Sultan Ali Allana, at State House Nairobi.

During the meeting, Ruto extended an official invitation to the Aga Khan to visit Kenya for the signing of an agreement recognizing the Ismaili Imamat and for the conferment of Kenya’s highest civil honour, the Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart (C.G.H.).
