President William Ruto has named former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo as the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Communication, and Digital Economy.

Kabogo, who served as Kiambu’s inaugural governor between 2013 and 2017, returns to the national stage in a pivotal role aimed at shaping Kenya’s digital future.

His appointment marks a significant political comeback following his unsuccessful bid for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat in 2022 under the Tujibebe Wakenya Party, a political outfit he founded.

The Ministry of Information, Communication, and Digital Economy is central to Kenya’s Vision 2030 development blueprint. Kabogo’s appointment underscores the administration’s commitment to advancing a modern, inclusive, and digitally connected society.

Other notable appointees in the reshuffle include former Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, ex-Laikipia Governor Nderitu Muriithi, Lee Kinyanjui, and Ababu Namwamba, among others.
