Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai on a recent post on his social media platform has downplayed the recent Maandamano in several parts of the country. On his Facebook page he asserted that more than 90 percent of the country is safe amid ongoing protests. He wrote,
“Of the cities, Nakuru is 95% peaceful, Eldoret is 99% peaceful, Mombasa is 100% peaceful, Kisumu is 110% peaceful, and Nairobi is 92% peaceful,” stated Alai. “Githurai and Roysambu can demonstrate all they want. Kenya is peaceful!”
Alai’s statement come amid nationwide demonstrations that have been reported in some urban areas in the country. His sentiments have been seen to assure citizens and also the international community that Kenya remains to be safe and secure.
Although he cited that Nairobi was reported to be 92 percent peaceful, the city had alot of unrest during today’s protest. Nonetheless, Alai continues to influence the public and increase confidence among international investors.
