Members of the public across the country have come out in considerable numbers to express their views regarding the special motion to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In Nairobi, the public participation exercise is being held at the Bomas of Kenya. In Uasin Gishu, the collection center for public opinions is at the Uasin Gishu County Government Hall.
Kajiado residents thronged the Maasai Training Institute to express their views. In Kakamega, the exercise is underway at Magharibi Hall in Kakamega Town.
The public participation exercise is in accordance with Article 118 of the 2010 Constitution.
Notably, Gachagua had filed petitions to halt the exercise, but the courts rejected them.
In the impeachment motion tabled in the National Assembly by Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse, Gachagua is accused of, among others, undermining President William Ruto and fanning tribal politics.
