President William Samoei Ruto has approved the new high-level government appointments, confirming two new Cabinet Secretaries and fifteen Principal Secretaries to serve in his administration.

According to Gazette Notices No. 4834 and 4835, the appointments take effect from April 17, 2025.

In the Cabinet, Hanna Wendot Cheptumo has been approved as the Gender CS and Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku as Public Service Cabinet Secretary.

Ruku, a former Member of Parliament for Mbeere North Constituency, and Cheptumo were vetted on Monday, April 14, during a session in which Speaker Moses Wetang’ula noted that both nominees faced rigorous questioning.

In the same notice, the President named the following individuals as Principal Secretaries:

  • Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya
  • Regina Akoth Ombam
  • Cyrell Odede Wagunda
  • Dr. Caroline Wanjiru Karugu
  • Dr. Fredrick Ouma Oluga
  • Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim
  • Judith Nayiai Ramaita-Pareno
  • Bonface Barasa Makokha
  • Prof. Shaukat Ali Abdulrazak
  • Michael Lenasalon
  • Stephen Isaboke
  • Fikirini Jacobs Katoi Kahindi
  • Carren Ageng’o Achieng
  • Aden Abdi Millah

The new appointments come even as the President’s continues efforts to strengthen service delivery across various government departments and to bring in a diverse pool of expertise.

“These appointments are effective from April 17, 2025,” the President stated in the official notice dated April 16.

This reshuffle is expected to inject new energy and focus into government operations as the administration continues to implement its Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda and other key national priorities.
