President William Ruto has rolled out a list of projects that are aimed at transforming Nairobi City. Speaking during a recent visit to Pipeline in Embakasi today, he said the projects would tackle challenges that have inhabited the city.
Some of the challenges he highlighted include water shortages, unreliable electricity supply, informal settlements and poor waste and garbage management.
To ease movement and improve economic activity, the President announced construction of a priority road in Nairobi’s 85 electoral wards. He also revealed plans to improve water supply by prioritising Maragua Dam Project . This move will increase water availability and address water shortages affecting homes and households.
The President also announced a garbage collection service set to commentlce on April 1st 2026. He also shared plans to construct a water treatment plant at Dandora dumpsite to manage waste, generate energy and fertilizer next year.
The President also announced government plans to invest in affordable housing, modern markets and hostels to accomodate learners. These projects will address housing challenges and create jobs to Kenyan citizens.
President William Ruto also announced efforts to construct 700 classrooms in public schools that will provide learning spaces for 21000 students and improve access to learning in schools
He stated that the projects will form the government’s agenda to improve the living conditions of Nairobi citizens and impact their daily lives directly .
