President William Ruto today, Wednesday, January 1, inspected the construction of the Kisii Cancer Center.

However, the president was dissatisfied with the construction progress of the facility and read a riot act to the contractor and many others across the country, delaying the implementation of key government programmes .

Speaking at the center, the visibly angry Ruto instructed the contractor to meet the deadlines or face contract termination.

The head of state said the contractor had been paid all the requisite money and there was no reason whatsoever to delay the project.

“You have been paid all the money required. There is no reason whatsoever why this project is not progressing. This is unacceptable. So, you will get a final warning, you know, my friend. If you don't pull up your socks, then we'll have to terminate this contract. Get another contractor so that we can get this cancer centre off the ground. It's just as simple as that. There is no brawl, there is no quarrel,'' said Ruto.

The head of state insisted that contractors delaying the implementation of key programmes will not be tolerated.
