President William Ruto has recognised 879 outstanding Kenyans for their exemplary service, honouring them with national awards, decorations and medals during a ceremony held at State House, Nairobi.

The event celebrated individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication in fields such as public service, education, business, healthcare, sports, community development and the creative industry.

Among the recipients were Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu, musician Iyani, Kenya Army Commander Lt. Gen. David Kipkemboi Keter, as well as prominent sportsmen and women who were feted across various categories including Elder of the Golden Heart (E.G.H), Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (C.B.S) and the Order of the Grand Warrior (O.G.W).

In his address, President Ruto said the accolades are a testament to the nation’s appreciation of integrity, patriotism and hard work.
“These honours prove that hard work, honesty, and service do not go unnoticed. They speak about the value of doing what is right, putting the country first, and building a better Kenya for ourselves and future generations,” he noted.

Those conferred with the prestigious Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya, Second Class (Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart) included Attorney-General Dorcas Oduor and Cabinet Secretaries William Kabogo Gitau (Information, Communications and the Digital Economy), Lee Kinyanjui (Trade and Industry) and Deborah Barasa (Environment, Climate Change and Forestry). Dr. Pratt Kristina Kenyatta and Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu were also honoured in this category.

The annual awards highlight the government’s commitment to acknowledging individuals who continue to shape the country’s progress and inspire service to the nation.
