Police in Nyamache Sub-County today intensified their crackdown on illegal alcohol, arresting one suspect and seizing large quantities of illicit brew in a morning operation.
Officers from Nyangusu Police Station raided a home in Nyangusu Sub-Location, where they recovered 20 litres of chang’aa and destroyed an additional 210 litres of kangara, a key ingredient in the production of the potent brew.
The suspect was apprehended at the scene and later processed at Nyangusu Police Station before being charged at Ogembo Law Courts.
The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating the manufacture and sale of illicit alcohol, which continues to pose serious health and safety risks across the country.
Authorities are urging members of the public to report any suspicious activities related to the trade in illegal brews.
