Kenya Pipeline are the new Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) national women’s league champions after edging past the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in a pulsating final at the Kasarani Indoor Arena on Saturday evening.
The oil merchants had made a strong statement in Game One on Friday, sweeping DCI in straight sets. But Saturday’s encounter proved far more competitive.
Determined to force a decider, Patrick Sang’s DCI side came out strong, taking the first set 25-21. However, Pipeline regrouped and responded with renewed energy to claim the second set by the same margin, 25-21.
DCI regained momentum in the third set, dominating 25-18, but Geoffrey Omondi’s Pipeline squad held their nerve in the fourth, winning 25-21 to push the match into a decisive fifth set.
With their African Club Championship bronze medal experience showing, Pipeline sealed the title with a confident 15-11 finish in the final set, reclaiming the national crown they last won in 2022.
