Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Tuesday, May 27, made an impromptu inspection of the Isiolo- Mandera Highway, which is under construction.
During the inspection, Kindiki was fulfilled about the commencement of the road construction, saying President William Ruto’s government had actualised a project that had been overlooked by previous governments.
The 750-kilometer road connecting Isiolo- Kula Mawe- Modogashe- Samatar- Wajir- Tarbaj-Kotulo- Kobo- Elwak- Garre- Rhamu – Mandera towns has been split into 11 sections and awarded to 7 different contractors to ensure timely completion within two years.
Speaking after inspecting the construction works of the 77-kilometer Kula Mawe -Isiolo section, Kindiki said the road will turn around the economy of Northern Kenya and also deal a massive blow to insecurity.
The road is being constructed at 100 billion.
