President William Ruto has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering girls through education by fully sponsoring the secondary education of more than 220 students from vulnerable backgrounds.
In a statement shared on his official X platform (formerly Twitter), President Ruto announced that the students from PCEA Booth Girls’ High School will have their entire four-year education program fully funded by the government.
The learners, drawn from needy families, were hosted for a breakfast meeting at State House, Nairobi.“We are investing in a holistic education for our girls to expose them to more and better opportunities,” President Ruto stated. “With equal access to quality education, our girls, especially from vulnerable backgrounds, will be empowered and reach their potentials.”
The President made the promise during the commissioning of the PCEA Booth Girls’ High School in Ngong’ Forest on March 13, 2025.
The school, established to provide quality education to girls from underserved communities, is now set to serve as a model institution under the government’s inclusive education agenda.
This initiative aligns with the government’s broader efforts to close the gender and economic gap in education by supporting girls from disadvantaged backgrounds to stay in school and excel.
