National Super League (NSL) newcomers Soy United have appointed Jeffers Odongo as head coach for the 2025/26 season, in compliance with Football Kenya Federation (FKF) coaching regulations.
Odongo, a CAF B License holder, brings extensive top-flight experience, having served as assistant coach at KCB FC last season and previously at Kakamega Homeboyz, where he helped secure the 2023 FKF Cup, as well as at Wazito FC (now Muhoroni Youth).
His appointment sees club legend Twago, who led Soy United to consecutive promotions, step aside due to licensing requirements.
Twago, who holds a CAF C License, will now serve as Odongo’s assistant to maintain continuity within the technical bench.
However, the club’s NSL future remains uncertain. The Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) recently suspended the league’s kickoff—originally set for 13 September—and froze the promotions of Soy United and Compel SC following an appeal by Gucha FC over a points deduction.
A final ruling is expected September 15. Until then, Soy United continues to prepare for its debut second-tier season under Odongo’s leadership, determined to hit the ground running once their promotion is confirmed.
