Makadara MP George Aladwa has reiterated that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will not shy away from supporting President William Ruto.
Speaking at a church service in Nairobi attended by President Ruto, Aladwa responded to ODM leaders who have expressed dissatisfaction over the party’s cooperation with the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Aladwa pointed out that the President’s appointment of ODM members to his cabinet was clear evidence of the party’s support for his administration.
He emphasized that ODM leaders elected to office would not hesitate to express this stance publicly.
“Mr. President, I want to assure you that we will support you and visit you during the day without fearing anything because there is nothing to hide,” Aladwa declared.

The legislator added that ODM would take a bold stance in supporting the President’s development agenda.
As ODM’s Nairobi branch chairman, he also dismissed party members critical of the government’s broad-based approach, warning them that such political dissent would fade once Raila Odinga secures the position of African Union Commission Chairman.
“We are just waiting for Raila to win, and you will see what will follow next in our country,” Aladwa said.
The church service, attended by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, MPs from across the political spectrum, and all ODM MCAs, saw leaders come together in a unanimous declaration of support for the President.
“In Nairobi, we will not pretend about our support for you. We will work with you and visit you anytime,” Aladwa added, praising the President for his support of education programs in Nairobi and calling for more national government support.
ODM Secretary General and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna recently stated that there was no official working relationship between ODM and UDA, suggesting that the President could still lose the 2027 elections, even with ODM’s backing.

However, Aladwa rejected this claim, asserting that ODM is already in a strong working relationship with UDA and those opposing it are in denial.
