The central government has emphasized the role of National Youth Service (NYS) Colleges as the main tool for the eradication of unemployment and empowering the youth with practical skills that can help them earn on their own.
The Institutions through which not only employment pathways are created but also, the citizens are trained on the qualities of being responsible and disciplined, said Dr. Jane Imbunya, Principal Secretary at the Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development.
Dr. Imbunya while addressing the NYS Achiya Echakara College in Teso North, in her remarks, said that the government will keep up its commitment of strengthening NYS training programs so as to be able to cater to the requirements of the job market.
The local leaders and the clergy who were present at the event, in unison, responded to the call, requesting the government to be more resourceful in the utilization of the college so as to increase its capacity and improve the training opportunities for the youth of the area.
