President William Ruto has officially launched the construction of the Narok International Airport.
The infrastructure project is aimed at enhancing access to the world-renowned Maasai Mara.
The airport is expected to significantly promote tourism by improving connectivity, reducing the need for aircraft landings and take-offs within the reserve, and supporting conservation efforts.
Set for completion within 15 months, the project is also anticipated to create employment opportunities and increase foreign exchange earnings through heightened tourist activity.
The President emphasized the airport’s role in balancing economic growth with environmental protection.
