The inaugural Nairobi Open Walking Football Tournament has drawn 13 teams and will take place on November 29 at the Uhuru Sports Complex in Nairobi.
Kenya Walking Football Federation Treasurer Lilian Anupi expressed confidence that the newly established federation is ready to roll out its programmes nationwide, with the core mission of keeping people aged 50 and above active through sport.
The maiden tournament will feature Donholm Eagles Walking Football Team, Uhuru Complex Golden Oldies, and Uhuru Complex Men Walking Football from Nairobi County.
Kajiado County will be represented by Ngong Walking Football Club, while Mombasa Walking Football Team will fly the flag for Mombasa County.
Teams from Western Kenya will also be well represented, including Migori United Men, Migori United Women, Migori United Mixed, Awendo Sub-County Women, Awendo Sub-County Mixed, Suna East Women, and Kuria East Women.
