Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called on Kenyan diplomats to aggressively market the country as a top destination for investment, trade and global partnerships following the conclusion of the 19th Ambassadors’ Conference.
Mudavadi described the four-day meeting as a critical turning point in Kenya’s foreign policy agenda, noting that ambassadors and high commissioners have now been equipped with a clear mandate to project a confident, competitive and forward-looking Kenya on the global stage.
The conference, which comes nearly a decade since the last such gathering, signals what the government terms as a renewed push to revitalise Kenya’s diplomatic missions abroad and align them with the country’s evolving economic and foreign policy priorities.
President William Ruto, who officially set the tone of the conference, urged diplomats to seize every available opportunity to tell Kenya’s story positively and consistently.
“We have one country, and we must tell its story boldly,” the President emphasized, challenging envoys to position Kenya as a key hub for opportunity and growth.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki echoed the President’s sentiments, calling for discipline, focus and selfless service among diplomats as they advance the country’s interests across the globe.
Mudavadi noted that the conference also aligns Kenya’s missions with the recently adopted foreign policy framework and Sessional Paper, which are expected to guide diplomatic engagement and enhance the country’s competitiveness internationally.
He expressed confidence that the envoys will now drive Kenya’s global agenda with renewed energy, clarity and purpose, ultimately positioning the country on a stronger path of economic growth, opportunity and transformation.
